A Wonderful First Mother's Day

Dennis, Kelsey and I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Since Dennis had to work Sunday, I requested that we three attend the Brewer's game on Saturday against St. Louis. Dennis got us all new Brewer's gear to wear. We had a great time even tho the Brew Crew did not bring home a win. Sunday I was treated to breakfast and Kelsey had a frame and card for me. Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful cards I received!

Also on Saturday, we booked the reception site. You can start to SAVE THE DATE!

Last week, Kelsey and I spent a night in Illinois so I could attend a conference for the Illinois Safety Council. We had a great time seeing family and friends. Grandma wore Kelsey out so badly that she slept great even in a different place :)
Last weekend (5/3) we were able to celebrate Sarah Proebstle's 30th birthday. It was so great we could be there and we had a blast seeing everyone! Love, DEK

New News!

Well, considering how often I find time to make new postings, any news is new news! Anyway, this is BIG news...Dennis and I are engaged! We are looking at January for a wedding date, but nothing is booked yet...so don't make any travel plans! We will let you know. I am so excited to become a Ryan :) Although I already feel like part of the family.

Dennis proposed in New Orleans on our 3 night get-away. We were on the Steamboat Natchez and it was perfect. There are also new pictures from the trip. We saw Bourbon Street, ate at Brennan's Steakhouse, Johnny's Po'Boys, Acme Oyster Bar, and had drinks at many famous establishments, including the Carousel Bar in our hotel, The Hotel Monteleone. We went to the Aquarium and the D-Day Museum, both were beautiful attractions. We were both ready on day 4 to come home and see our little girl though! She looked even bigger when we got back.

This last weekend, Kelsey had some new pictures taken so check out the flicker site. We had a nice BBQ with Dennis' parents. Sunday Dennis spent some time with Austen and his cousins while Mom and Kelsey went to a taco night with Mom's new support group. It is called Shielded Hearts and it is for women who are in committed relationships with men in law enforcement. We had a nice time meeting new friends both little and big!

Enjoy!

Endless Winter

This last weekend Dennis was off, so Mom and Dad got to go bowling for a good cause while Kelsey was with her 4 girl cousins at the Lokkers. Kelsey loves to watch what the girls are up to when she is with them.

Do you like Kelsey's new hat? She likes to put her toys on her face or head and then giggles. As you can see in the pictures, she had her first taste of chocolate (not really). She gets that sweet tooth from her dad!

Kelsey's 4 month check-up was great. She is still 50th percentile for weight and 75th for length. She is sleeping well through the night, waking up once between 3 and 5, then sleeping again until 7. We are not feeding her cereal yet, as she has been content with her "liquid diet" so we don't feel she is ready yet. She likes to sing along when you sing to her and just started grabbing her feet!

Time Flies...

It seems I was just writing about Kelsey's 2 month appointment, and her 4 month check up is this Thursday! Since the last post, we survived the holidays, which were busy. We saw both sides of Dennis' family and the Murphy side of mine. We had fun celebrating but we also said goodbye to Grandma Cooper. New Year's included a trip out while Grandpa Ryan "watched" Kelsey (she was asleep the entire time).

I returned to work December 3rd and Dennis spent December with Kelsey while taking advantage of family leave time. They have a closer bond and had a blast together. He is now back at work as well. We are fortunate enough to have Joni our nextdoor neighbor watching Kelsey in the afternoons once Dennis goes to work. Also, our moms are taking turns watching her just for the joy of it.

There are some new pictures posted and videos will come this week. Love, Erin Dennis & Kelsey

Two Month Check-Up

Today was Kelsey's two month check-up. Wow, how fast the time has gone! Everything is great...she is 10 lbs. 13.5 oz, at the 50% for weight and 75% for length. Of course, she had to start her shots which is just as hard on the parents as the child! Lots of new pics are available on Flickr.

Never too early for oral hygiene...

Kelsey has taken to holding this toothbrush while sitting up. She will hold it until she falls asleep and it will fall out of her hand.
